Appeal PPA-230-2172 into the refusal of consent for 10 Houses on the East Suffolk Road Playing Field
This Appeal site, in the Craigmillar Park Conservation Area, is the former playing field of St. Margaret’s School. Application 14/03632/FUL for 10 semi-detached houses was refused planning consent by CEC, which decision was appealed by the owner Miller Homes and the Appeal Reporter’s Notice of Intention of 21st April is a “minded to grant planning permission” notification. The actual Decision was deferred to allow a Section 75 Agreement to be completed, including how the part of the site intended to be used as public open space is to be retained, improved and maintained for that purpose, plus arrangements for the improvement, ownership and maintenance of the Listed pavilion to be relocated on the site.
The original period for completion of this Agreement expired on 14th July and has now been further extended at the request of CEC and Miller Homes’ representatives until 30th November 2016. Further information will be posted when it is available. During 2016 some preliminary work has been carried out on site in connection with geotechnical investigations and the relocation of the Listed Pavilion which was granted planning consent.
